Description

This book is a gift of remembrance to the astrology community of one of America's great 20th century astrologer and researcher, Carl Payne Tobey. Naomi C Bennett discovered his research in a forgotten The Astrologer magazine by Grant Lewi that was preserved by the American Federation of Astrologers. She extended this research from 1951-2020. Some of Tobey's research was the importance of the personal lunar cycle highs and lows each month, the discovery of Moon Wobbles, the best aspects for long marriages, and the astronomy behind planetary rulerships of zodiacal signs and much more. There is extensive history on eclipses since it is one of the oldest observed celestial events that have been recorded over time. However, there are myths and beliefs given to these eclipse events that don't always stand up to scrutiny and research. Carl Payne Tobey was America's first astro-statistician and this book is a reprint of his research that was published in The Astrologer magazine in 1950-51. He intended for this series to become a book called, Looking at the Moon. In consideration of our modern astrological community, I have reproduced Tobey's original work with added research of mine that extend these recorded events from 1950 to 2020 specifically for Moon Wobbles (also called lunar bendings) since these are a less well known part of astrology. I have added to his original work to explain the phenomena and to include other astrologer opinions of eclipses for a more rounded perspective of how modern astrologers view these lunar nodes in their work. I then analyze and add my observations of these major events and known people who have significant horoscopes with these squaring Moon Wobbles. The last section are comments from the few remaining astrologers influenced by Tobey along with a review of his entire system of astrology.
